BIOGRAPHY

Miss Alicia
Guilder (B. Mus) is a 28 year old Soprano
who was born and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Alicia, who currently resides in Edmonton, Alberta, had the
privilege of auditioning for the prestigious Curtis Institute in Philadelphia in March of 2005.
After graduating from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Music in 2002, Alicia had her first experience
with Calgary Opera Association in 2003 where she played a chorus role in the world premiere production of FILUMENA.
In June of 2003, Alicia made her orchestral debut in a performance as a guest soloist with the Red Deer Symphony
Orchestra. She also represented Fort McMurray at the Provincial/National competition in Edmonton in 2003 where
she was awarded distinction for her performance and recommended as the alternate for the National competition in
Nova Scotia. In the summer of 2004, Alicia was awarded full funding to attend the first International Vocal Arts
Institute in Montreal where she worked with many well-known singers, coaches, and conductors.
Alicia has instructed private voice lessons at the college level and has performed many chorus/compramario roles
with Edmonton Opera in productions such as TURANDOT, MADAMA BUTTERFLY, SOUTH PACIFIC, LAKME, PORGY & BESS,
FILUMENA, LA BOHEME, DON GIOVANNI and MACBETH since she became a full-time chorus member in 2003. She's recently
appeared in this season's production of CARMEN and has begun rehearsals for the upcoming productions of HMS PINAFORE
and Mozart's REQUIEM.
Alicia
released her self-titled debut album in June 2006. |
